Arnold Scharringhausen has served 16 years as Elk Grove Township collector. He helped raise local collection rates from 84.7 to 87.4 percent and tax levies from 9.2 to 15.1 million while receipts grew from 7.8 to 14.3 million over four years. He oversees real estate and personal property tax collection and maps, mails tax bills, balances warrants, and audits with the county. He is Republican candidate for reelection on April 1 with a platform of maintaining current operations.

Stolen Auto Driver Faces Juvenile Court Charge
A 16 year old Wood Dale youth will appear in Cook County Juvenile Court on criminal trespass to an auto charges after four youths were stopped by Elk Grove Village police. The driver, two girls and a boy aged 15 to 17 were questioned. the others were released. The driver remains under custody and a hearing date is pending.
