Roads in desperate fight
Butte Montana June 13 The break in the Oregon Short Line at Buxton six miles south of Silver Bow was repaired at noon yesterday and traffic on that line has been resumed. The Northern Pacific grappling with a washout on the divide a few miles east of Butte cannot operate until today at best. The Great Northern offers no promise on the Montana Central line and may be out for a week or more. Damage to the Boston and Montana smelters at Great Falls likely keeps the plant closed for six weeks to two months, putting over 1 000 men out of work locally and the entire smelter force at Great Falls. Two Victims of Flood Kansas City June 13 The Kaw Missouri flood is receding and railroad traffic through Kansas has been practically restored. Two more deaths were added to the flood toll last night James Fradora of Kansas City Kan fell from his porch and drowned James Brown drowned when his boat capsized.
