City loses appeal to halt jail expansion
Irvine loses an appeal to block the James A. Musick Facility expansion as the Fourth District Court of Appeal sides with the county. The city may sue again if talks fail over an agreement to allow actions after the statute of limitations. The suit, begun in January 2012, challenged a $100 million state funding request for 512 new beds amid CEQA review disputes.
