Orange County Register reporter Kimberly Pierce reports the City Council has postponed consideration of Five Point's Great Park proposal for two weeks. Officials say the delay allows further review and community input while the project awaits additional assessments and planning details.
The Orange County Great Park project seeking a $176 million funding, 688 acres, and a zone change to build 4,606 homes was tabled for two weeks as city staff pursue answers. Mayor Pro Tem Lalloway and Councilman Agran supported delaying, while Five Point’s Emile Haddad noted public interest and called the session a filibuster.
Beth Krom and Jeff Lalloway backed a delay citing loss of control and unresolved questions. Steven Choi and Christina Shea voted against delay citing job growth and park development priorities. FivePoint CEO Emile Haddad discussed moving a campus if the deal proceeds. Larry Agran supported delay citing high school site concerns.

She is a 34 year old Irvine resident and Filipino American mother of six who recalls a trip 30 years earlier and prepares for a country struck by one of its worst disasters. The storm left thousands dead and hundreds of thousands displaced as homes collapsed and streets flooded.
