Irvine uses reserves to pay off unfunded pension debt early

Irvine will largely settle its 91.1 million unfunded pension liability a decade ahead of schedule, using 3 million from year end balance and 5 million annually from Asset Management Plan funds for 10 years. The move could save about 33 million while CalPERS rates rise.
