Pledges save smaller third grade classes in Irvine
Irvine Public Schools Foundation concluded a three day fund raising drive to raise the remaining 29 000 of the 420 000 needed for third grade class size reductions. Tim Shaw praised Irvine parents for their commitment as volunteers at each school site worked to meet the goal. The district had set a May 31 deadline and the board required full funding to hire enough teachers for the grade.
