Irvine budget signals mixed revenues and cuts plan
The Irvine budget projects a net revenue rise driven by property taxes and new development, offset by declines in sales and fines revenue. Property taxes up about 7.6 percent to 13.9 million, while sales tax falls by 1.1 million from 43 million. The plan envisions 45 capital projects totaling 37.3 million and 3 million in department savings, with two full-time and one half-time positions eliminated.
