Irvine police press war on drunken driving prompts sobriety checks
Irvine police conducted a Culver Drive sobriety checkpoint on Friday night stopping over 600 vehicles and testing four drivers for intoxication, resulting in three arrests and 27 other citations. The action drew observers including Todd Spitzer and Jeff Lalloway. Citations covered various Vehicle Code violations, with one addressing driving too slowly and another for failing to notify DMV of a change of address. Ten Irvine residents were cited, plus others from nearby cities.
