Students Reach Edge of Space With Educational Balloons

Two teams, La Paz Intermediate and Woodbridge High, launched a helium balloon from Lake Forest Sports Park to 110000 feet to test if antifreeze and kerosene freeze and if wireless charging works in near space. They hope to retrieve experiments on private property near Palomar Mountain within about a week with permission.

Great Park Water park could splash next spring

Wild Rivers returns to Orange County Great Park with water slides raft rides and a lazy river set to debut in May 2020. CEO Mike Riedel says the roughly 50 million design will be 50 percent larger with longer river and bigger wave pool while re-creating the Bombay Blasters slide and adding a new Congo River Rapids ride. City approval could come in coming months as land lease terms are finalized.
