Fire rear rock yaulry sparks fire at Sioux County farm
A large barn and crib burned at a farm four miles south of Rock Valley after a threshing engine near the barn sparked a fire in the straw stack. Hogs and a colt perished in the blaze. The McElroy outfit was threshing when flames began in the straw. wind carried sparks away from the stack, making containment impossible. The farm, recently acquired, is insured. Death of Former Graduate From Lions City
Jesse DuBois died of typhoid fever at Correctionville on August 27 after a brief illness. He was the eldest son of Rev. F. E. DuBois, formerly pastor of Mt. FE church in Treton, and a Treton high school graduate of 1960. A student at Morningside College in the theological department, he would have been a senior this year. He was highly respected by fellow students and all who knew him.
