Autos Crash Head On on Brighton Highway
A head on collision between a Maxwell and a Ford occurred Saturday evening on the Brighton road about seven miles southwest of town. The Maxwell from the Packwood neighborhood was inbound while the Ford tried to pass a car ahead and struck the oncoming Maxwell. Both cars were badly damaged but occupants escaped injury.

Sunday night in the square a Ford car parked on the north side was set alight by a dropped match that fell into spilled oil. The blaze was quickly extinguished by a city extinguisher with no serious damage to the car.
Miss Alice Meek Undergoes Mastoid Operation in Detroit
Miss Alice Meek, who left Washington for a vacation in Chicago and Detroit, underwent a mastoid operation in Detroit last week. She was at the home of cousins Dr W J M Scott and Mrs Helen Work Scott when the problem arose and is in Henry Ford hospital under Dr Scott’s care, progressing well per her parents Mr and Mrs M R Meek.

Crank Kick Injures Rush Helwick in Morning Accident

Mayors hears fight story at battery shop row
Four men faced Mayor Ed Bovee over a Saturday night disturbance at the Washington Battery and Electric Co. all four found guilty and fined twenty dollars and costs. Testimony conflicted but the charge of disturbing the peace stood. Daviess claimed Shull ordered him out, Shull brothers denied starting it, Nisle supported the opposing view and appealed the fine. A 14 year old Shull boy wielded a battery during the scuffle and was restrained. Nisle appealed the fine and Daviess plans a civil suit for damages against the Shull brothers.
