Three day final push for the Washington Democrat circulation drive ends with a sealed ballot box at Commercial Savings Bank. Members must deposit credits by 8 p m Saturday Jan 2 with judges counting the votes and awarding hundreds of dollars in prizes including a Buick Sedan.

Harry Bell, veteran Post Office clerk, will be pensioned January 22 at age sixty five after forty years of continuous service. He began under his father when the post office stood near the old Washington County Savings Bank. he recalls trains, postage, stamps, and changing mail methods from three cent letters to modern parcel post.
Miss Elizabeth Bell, teaching in Chicago this year, spent Christmas with relatives in the area. It is her first holiday at home for several years due to prior duties in the West keeping her away from friends here.
The Y's Men's club will install its new officers at the Tuesday January 5 meeting at 6 30 p.m. A special committee has prepared a banquet with Mrs John Dodd catering at the house. Toastmaster J Elliot Grayson will introduce the retiring president and the new president Leland Morrison. All members and spouses are expected to attend.
Mrs. Pearl Stephens Whistler will host a radio program on WOAW January 10 from 2 45 to 4 PM. Her husband Edwin Whistler and Miss Ida Cavender will broadcast from the same station.
