Washington High School Opens With Renovated Buildings
The Washington school system begins a new term on Monday September 7 with expected full attendance. Buildings are renovated and in good condition, the Junior High redecorated, and the Heights building upgraded. Faculty lists include Supt Peet Principal Case and numerous teachers across high school and grades, with new appointments pending for a Spanish instructor. Rural graduates sign up for the social high school, with fifty to sixty entries anticipated and names already on file.

Death Claims Mrs Flora Schmeltzer in Colorado Visit
Flora Jane Brockway Schmeltzer died August 7 1925 in Boulder Colorado after a long life of outdoor activity. She was born August 1 1837 married to John Schmeltzer in 1866 and survived by daughters Eva Nellie Juzler and Cora Allen and a granddaughter. Funeral held at her home with Rev. W W Bowers officiating and burial in Elm Grove Cemetery.

Young People Present Cantata At Rural Church
Prairie Flower congregationchildren led by Mrs. P. M. Phillips presented the cantata Greater Than Solomon in song and story. The cross was shown as the emblem of Christ with Solomon bowing before it. Children wore period costumes and the church was festively decorated.

Boy Injured After Thirty Foot Fall in Iowa City
