Rob Moore leaves for Vietnam duty
Warrant Officer Rob Moore, son of Mrs. John Moore, Omaha formerly of Le Mars, departs San Francisco for Vietnam service. He is assigned to the 1st Cavalry Air Mobile unit as a pilot with an assault helicopter unit. Moore completed a 36 week rotary wing aviation course at Hunter Army Air Field Savannah Ga on May 7. He was a navy reservist as a junior at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and began service a year ago, with basic training at Fort Walters near Dallas.

An amendment altered April minutes noting a town of Hinton donation from local project funds. Scholarship and International Friendship funds to be sent this month. A bus tour is planned for September with details later. RAVE contest entries encouraged. A program and quiz on Why I Vote were given by Bogenrief, vice-chairman. 1969 officers were elected: chairman Bogenrief, vice-chairman Albert Held, secretary-treasurer Glen Udell. September hostess will be Ben Held.

Milton Tappans Donate Carving to Sioux City Museum
A new gift named Treasure of the Month arrives at Sioux City museum. The Oriental wood carving, brought to the U.S. by Maj. Ben Koehler during the Boxer Rebellion era, was donated by Mr. and Mrs. Milton Tappan of Florida, former Sioux City residents. Mrs. Wilhemina Tappan is the daughter of the late R. J. Koehler of Le Mars.
