Remembrance of Le Mars Landmarks That Vanished
A reader recalls former Le Mars landmarks long gone including the old ball park near St James church and several churches once lining Central Avenue. The notes name the old Methodist church at Ply mouth Street and Second Avenue NW now replaced by Athens service station and the First Methodist church dating to 1914, plus Congregational and other churches that disappeared from the townscape.

After a cloudy damp spell on Monday the weather turned sunny and warmer today. Light rain and freezing drizzle on Monday totaled .03 inch with a high near 45. Morning low around 33 rose into the 50s by afternoon and skies should stay fair with 70s by the weekend. Spring colors begin to emerge as tulips and crocuses push through thawing soil.
