Wilmes Guilty on 12 Counts of Fraud in Sioux City
Arnold J. Wilmes of Merrill was found guilty on 12 counts of using the U S mails to defraud by a federal court jury in Sioux City after a trial before Judge William C. Hanson. The charges stem from a Jan 10 1963 scheme to obtain candy and merchandise from Inman Candy Co Peggy Anne Fine Candies in Des Moines and Fingerhut Manufacturing Co. of St. Cloud Minn. Judge Hanson ordered a presentence investigation and Wilmes was released on his own recognizance with no sentencing date set. In other brief news Mrs Marie Beech and Mrs Muriel Decker hospital dietary staff earned a 20 lesson nutrition course through an Iowa health department program.
