Court records show speeding fines in JP Gordon Tentinger case
Ralph Charles Niechus of Le Mars was fined $10 and costs for speeding 80 mph in a 60 zone filed by Highway Patrolman William Wruck. High winds slow elm tree trimming in Le Mars
S and S Tree Service trims dead wood from Le Mars elms at about four trees per hour. Work began last week but winds slowed progress. Foreman Arnie Staebell cited delays. Mayor Rudy Adler noted initial slow start while dead twigs were cut. Trimming moves east to west along avenues. council discussed removing two or three larger trees.

Minor damage in fender-bender near Central Ave
Two cars sustained minor damage after a fender-bender Monday afternoon March 11 on First St SW about 100 feet west of Central Ave. Patricia Kanago 41 of 627 Second Ave SE was westbound and stopped for a truck from an alley. Kenneth Persoon 44 rural Le Mars rear collided with Kanago’s 1960 Pontiac. Damage totaled 50 dollars to the left rear of the Kanago car and 85 dollars to the right front fender of Persoon’s 1963 Ford. Trees at the corner and highway 75 signs were noted as hazards. Property owner Mrs. James Rogers was contacted and permissions granted. Plans will seek removal of billboard signs from the right-of-way.

Cram welder recovered from gravel pit near George
A portable welder stolen December 5 from Sheldon Cram's residence at 700 Fourth Ave SE was found in a gravel pit south of George. Conservation Officer Gene Newel reported it Saturday, and Le Mars police returned the welder to Cram after serials were checked. The device was in good condition minus the welding head.
