Marycrest college Davenport lists 87 students with very high honors for the first semester. Granville residents Mary Degen and Mary Penning earned honors for grades from 3.00 to 3.39 with a minimum 12 credits. Degen, a biology major and junior, is daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert G Degen. Penning, a biology major and sophomore, is daughter of Mr and Mrs Andrew V Pen ning, route 1, Granville.
Over 100 Plymouth county residents pledged their eyes to the Iowa Lions eye bank at University Hospitals, part of a statewide total of 32 055 Iowans who have signed donor cards. The program notes 931 corneal transplants to date and explains how corneas are used to restore sight after death.
