Don Reimenschneider of Kingsley won the Plymouth County hog show at Le Mars Sale Barn with Dave Kruse of Le Mars taking reserve in the junior class. Thirty seven area farmers entered 65 hogs in open and junior divisions, judged by Mac Whitaker of Iowa State University under No 1 2 or 3 standards. Carcass judging and color photo presentations planned. winners also noted from Ireton Akron Le Mars and Merrill.

Plymouth County swine producers may nominate for the 1966 Master Pork Producer Recognition. Nominations are due May 15 and may be submitted by the producer or others such as extension staff. Criteria include five years raising hogs and at least 15 sows farrow, with sows farrowing between Dec 1 1965 and Jun 1 1966. Entries consider farrowing dates, pigs farrowed weaned and marketed, sale dates, and total liveweight of the 1966 spring crop.
