Mary Helen Kercher of 240 Ste wart Gardens Newburgh NY 12550 daughter of Dr and Mrs Golden O Thompson Le Mars received her bachelor of arts degree last Sunday from State University College New Paltz NY major English. At the college 80th commencement more than 3 200 attended and 808 degrees were awarded. Mr and Mrs Louis Welsbrod of Fremont observed their 66th wedding anniversary at home on June 6.
Twelve members two leaders and one visitor gathered at Susan Dennler's home on June 5 for 4-H activities. ARDYCE FETT shared fair entry details with slides about her stay in Ceylon. Ann Brodie reported on 4-H camp. Barbara Lake demonstrated removing old finish and Mary Pelelo spoke on applying a new finish. Julie Klemme and Anita Ideker recited the Country Girl's Creed. Discussion covered the county banquet and annual meeting. Next meeting set at Mary Pelelo's home at 2:00 with Carol Lake reporting.
Des Moines reports that around 70,000 welfare recipients in Towa might miss scheduled checks as the new fiscal year begins July 1 and the legislature has not yet passed the appropriation bill for aid programs such as aid to dependent children and old age assistance. Officials warn it will be touch and go to deliver payments even if action occurs this week.
Allen Schultz of Merrill son of Mr and Mrs Alfred Schultz has completed a nine month course in auto mechanics at Universal Trades School in Omaha. A graduate of Le Mars Community Schools, he finishes the program with credentials in vehicle repair.
Nancy Masuen daughter of Mr and Mrs Ray Masuen of Le Mars earned a bachelor of arts in English at the University of Iowa on June 9 Plans for teaching in the fall are indefinite and she is employed in Iowa City for the summer

Joseph Flatt attacks University of Iowa Biopsy as filthy pornography and urges administrative action to bar its use of the university name and distribution in hospitals. NIPCO hires Chris White as payroll and records clerk and notes she has worked there since May 31. A 1967 graduate of School she held leadership roles in high school including student council pep club and Girls Recreation Association and served as a cheerleader. Parents are Mr and Mrs Sherman D White of Le Mars.
The board of directors of International Milling, Minneapolis, on June 16 declared a regular quarterly dividend of 30 cents a share on common stock. It is payable July 15 to stockholders of record June 29. The company has 2,502,278 common shares outstanding and also declared a regular quarterly dividend on its four series of first preferred stock.
