Wilhelmine Meyer Dragoo 85 of Kingsley died Wednesday at a Sioux City hospital after farming near Pierson for 50 years. Born July 26 1883 in Pierson to Fred and Wilhelmine Meyer she attended Morningside College and belonged to Kingsley United Methodist Church. Funeral Saturday 10:30 a.m. at Kingsley United Methodist Church with burial in Kingsley Cemetery under Michaelson Funeral Home direction. An 8 p.m. Friday prayer service at the funeral home. Survivors include son Orlan rural Correctionville three daughters Sylvia Richards Ruby Gross Erma Severson seven grandchildren seven great grandchildren and one sister Ida Schaffer Lawton. Her husband died in 1963 and six brothers and three sisters preceded her.

Le Mars Man Fractures After Fall From Tree At Home
Sanford Johns age 77 of 12th Street Southwest Le Mars was hospitalized after a fall from a tree at his residence. He was listed in better condition Thursday morning after being found by his brother Lloyd Johns and transported by Luken Johnson Ambulance to Floyd Valley Hospital with undetermined injuries.

Western Iowa Tech approves 6 percent pay raise for staff
Western Iowa Tech Community College board approved a 6% across the board pay hike effective July 1 for instructional staff, with clerical and maintenance employees receiving $600 plus the increment.
