Joseph Valentine Plendl, 25, of Hinton, escaped injury early Monday when his northbound 1971 Ford left highway 75 south of Hinton, crossed the road after striking a speed zone sign, and landed in a creek by a bridge. Damage totaled 800 to the car and 20 to the sign. he was charged with failure to have control of his vehicle.

Two Men Sentenced In 1973 Kay Dee Atrazine Theft

The U.S. Supreme Court declined to hear appeals by Lawrence Geelan and Robert S Moore in the 1973 Kay Dee Feeds atrazine theft case in Sioux City. They were each sentenced to eight and five years in federal prison, after being found guilty of disposing of six dollars worth of herbicide in South Dakota. Moore faced an additional charge of atrazine possession in Plymouth County, and both defendants are to begin serving their terms within two weeks.
