A. Johnson of Akron sues Arden Aust and others in district court seeking 228 for professional services by Drs McBride Stauch Boysen and Jackson. Sioux City Milk Producers Coop Assn names Fleming Mfg Co Inc and Thomas M Byrne in a district court suit seeking 1229 for property damages from a two vehicle crash near Le Mars on Sept 1. Byrne allegedly drove the Fleming truck that collided with a Johnson owned truck.
Dorothy Osler nee Childs has filed a petition in district court naming Elmer R. Childs and Phyllis Mae Dommer as defendants. She seeks back child support of 9175 and notes the defendants may soon inherit from an estate. Mars refers to a former boxer in the context. Francis Nemmers of Nem mers Plumbing Shop suffered a fractured nose, cracked upper jaw, two broken ribs and a sprained wrist after a fall at the new high school gym. The Clarks plan to relocate to Sanborn after buying a home. Mr Clark, recently released from Sacred Heart hospital, and their daughter and her husband Hubert Schultz reside in Sanborn.
The 1967 International Livestock Exposition in Chicago crowned Mike Bott, son of Mr and Mrs Fred Bott of Victor, as the first place junior yearling Hereford steer. Henry Buchanan of Storm Lake received a 50 year life membership in the Order of Eastern Star and a matching pin from the Odeboit chapter. A three acre experimental balloon was recovered from Alvin Woods farm near New Hampton. Annie Mead of Oakland celebrated her 90th birthday as the oldest reunion attendee spanning five generations. The Spirit Lake Beacon publisher W E Beck Jr earned the Kiwanis 1967 Citizen of the Year acknowledgement.
Del Raymond, vice president in charge of marketing for Iowa Public Service Co., spoke at the Elks club luncheon to urge efforts to attract industry. He noted IPS, the Iowa Development Commission, and the Le Mars Development Corp. collaborate, with Le Mars under serious consideration for a potential plant. He cited other utilities as contenders and a keen competition for a new location.
Joe Lewis Jr of Le Mars is a medical patient at St Luke East hospital in Sioux City after becoming ill at work Tuesday morning.
Twenty Waverly friends of Leland Ebaugh climbed the roof of his new dairy barn earlier this month and completed the large top covering quickly. Ebaugh’s old barn was destroyed by fire in November.
