Car slides on ice into parked truck in Le Mars
Le Mars police reported a 1966 Chevrolet panel truck owned by Reuter Flooring Co. sustained minor damage when a car slid on ice into it at 10 p.m. Tuesday at Second Street and Third Avenue SE. Barry McDougall, 17, of 1225 First Ave SE lost control coming from the north and turning west, causing $50 damage to the truck and $130 damage to a 1967 Mustang owned by William McDougall. Both youths paid a $25 fine on an alcohol charge and appeared before Justice Joseph Frankie in Los Fresnos, Texas, charged with possession of alcohol.

Kingsley residents Ted Bolton report his in laws Mr and Mrs Melvin Bainbridge stranded in Winslow Arizona due to heavy snow. They pulled into a motel on December 13 and remained there as of Friday. Winslow recorded 29 inches and Flagstaff 49 inches with Flagstaff later at 90 inches. The Bainbridges cannot move their car and are walking for meals while awaiting travel to California.
