Christmas program at Akron church showcased Christ centered displays
Dennis the Menace appearance preceded a Trinity Lutheran and St. Matthew's joint exhibit in Akron on December 2. Women created displays with centerpieces candles and nativity themes plus handmade cards and tree decorations. A gingerbread church scene and Advent candle lighting highlighted the hour long program. Beverly Andresen played Santa Lucia and the choir performed Bach arrangements while attendees sang Silent Night and Joy to the World.

Senior Girls Take Test for Homemaker of Tomorrow
The Betty Crocker Search for the American Homemaker of Tomorrow test was taken by senior foods and nutrition students last Tuesday. Sister Pancratia administered the exam sponsored by General Mills and the SRA to identify outstanding high school homemakers and gauge useful home making knowledge. The top state scorer advances to the State Junior Homemaker title with a 1500 scholarship. runner up receives 500. The Junior Homemaker of America for 1960 also earns a 1500 scholarship. Jays Earn First Siouxland Conference Victory

Gehlen seventh eighth graders plan Christmas visit
