Miss Evelyn Schulz entertained members of the Tuesday club Monday evening at her home with a 7 30 dinner and visiting. The Missionary Study circle of St John Lutheran met Tuesday at the parish house for a 6 30 dinner followed by a playlet Christmas Thoughts performed by Norma Mohning and others with singing by Miss Jean Larson and Mrs Rudy Adler.

Le Mars clubs host Christmas gatherings in busy week

Le Mars groups held Christmas parties and luncheons Tuesday through Friday at locations including Cora's Tea Room and the Masonic Temple. Members exchanged gifts, played cards, and elected officers while aiding charitable drives for Indian missions and hospital patients.

District One IAIIA Members Host Christmas Party

Members of district one of the Iowa Association of Independent Insurance Agents met Monday evening at the Club Debonair for a Christmas party. Included in the district are agents from Plymouth, Sioux, Woodbury, O'Brien and Cherokee counties. Steak dinners were served, after which the group was entertained by the Nip cords barbershop quartet of Le Mars.

Grace Lutheran Ladies Aid Meets for Christmas Charity

The Ladies Aid of Grace Lutheran church met Thursday afternoon with hostesses Mrs. Ida Lang and Mrs. Herb Ladén. Rev. Harry E. Meyer led devotions and the lesson, then Christmas carols. Mrs. Don Peters conducted business and a silver offering was taken for Dakota Boys Ranch gifts. Coffee hour followed.

Flowers For Mary's Altar Observes Immaculate Conception

On December 8 the student body placed white and yellow mums at Mary's altar to honor the Immaculate Conception. The event reflects a yearly tradition purchasing bouquets for Maury in reverent tribute.

Nativity Scene Erected by Gehlen Shop Class

The class of 1954 built life size figures for a Nativity Scene displayed above Gehlen’s main entrance. Mary Joseph Baby Jesus the shepherds and sheep are painted bright against straw. Senior boys set up the scene yearly and will do so again next Saturday with spotlights for day and night viewing.

Memorial library tribute honors Barbara and Jim Groetken

Le Mars Gehlen High School students presented a memorial to the Geh lin Library in memory of Barbara and Jim Groetken who died in a December car accident. The gift comprises nine new books selected by the Student Advisory Board and Library Club and accepted by library officials.
