The Cherokee county sheriff’s department investigates a Wednesday morning break-in at Corky’s Corner located 112 miles south of Marcus at the junction of county road 143 and Iowa 3. Stolen were several hundred dollars in items including a $175 paymaster check writer, a $375 electric calculator, tools, and a Citizens band Johnson messenger radio valued at about $175 from a truck outside.

Heating oil dealers get CLC-92 forms from IRS in Des Moines

James T. Ridecutte of the Internal Revenue Service announced CLC-92 forms are now available at the Des Moines IRS office for heating oil dealers. Retailers may raise No 2 heating oil prices once per calendar month to reflect higher costs and must report the increase on a CLC-92 within five days.
