Robert Wischmeyer reports that in a national review of driver education 2355 instructors in 600 high schools find girls close to boys in driver-safety. Instructors see girls more serious and eager to learn while boys retain a slight lead in perceived ability. Nationwide data show teens who take driver ed have fewer violations and accidents across both sexes.

New York Life Boosts Dividends for 1971

New York Life Insurance Co. authorizes $284,000,000 in dividends for 1971, a nearly $14 million rise from 1970. Sioux City general office manager DA Ehlert announced the increase, with about $5,500,000 of the total slated for Iowa policy owners on individual life insurance and annuity contracts.

King Finance sues McCalls for goods and damages in district court

King Finance files suit naming Roger McCall and Shirley McCall of James as defendants. The plaintiffs claim ownership of household goods valued at 500 dollars in possession of the defendants and seek 100 dollars in damages plus interest. The action requests payment of these amounts. Larry Athens also sues Darold Sorgdrager for 212.12 dollars for delivered goods. St Joseph Hospital sues Vera Schimberg and Theodore Schimberg of Kingsley for 61.08 dollars for professional services.

Sunshine club meeting and Merrill Christmas program announced

On December 9 the Sunshine club will meet with Mrs Milo Morris at 535 Evelyn Drive at 2 pm. On December 11 the Merrill Christmas program is scheduled for 7 30 pm. The notice lists various subscription and delivery rates for Le Mars Daily Sentinel as a local newspaper.

Qualified men and women may receive faster pro training in selected medic skills under the medical skills option. Applicants must meet basic eligibility and be technically qualified. Enlistments may be three to six years. Married applicants allowed? women must have no dependents under 18. Training at Fort Sam Houston San Antonio. Upon completion, eligible for corporal or sergeant promotions. Fields include brace specialist dental medical laboratory dental occupational therapy and more.
