Maser named chairman of Augustana publicity board

Mark Maser of Le Mars is named chairman of the publicity board of the union board of governors at Augustana College in Sioux Falls. The union board serves as the activities arm of the Augustana Student Assn and organizes social, cultural, and developmental events for the college. Bette Holland Injured in Arizona Fall

Census survey on farm work to be conducted regionally

The Bureau of the Census will interview a sample of households during December 11 to 17 to collect data on farm work for pay and migratory farm labor. Rex L. Pullin in Kansas City announced the survey, with Marjorie McIntire in Marcus conducting interviews. Results help gauge labor market health, with nationwide unemployment around 7.0 percent in October and 91.2 million employed out of 98.1 million in the civilian labor force. All data are confidential and published only as totals.
