The Le Mars League of Women Voters spent two years compiling a detailed Know Your County guide. The Daily Sentinel agreed to publish the manuscript with publisher Carter Pitts and KLEM aiding print costs amid paper shortages. Obituary of Dr Leland J Peebles 49 Randolph Neb dies after illness

Dr. Leland J Peebles 49 of Randolph Neb died Wednesday at a Osmond hospital after a three month illness. He was born June 2 1924 in Omaha and graduated Creighton University in 1951. He married Vera Mannlein in 1950 and began dentistry in Randolph in 1951. Survived by widow four sons and two daughters. Services were Saturday at St Frances Church Randolph with burial in the parish cemetery. He served in the Navy as radioman first class and held multiple local and dental society memberships.

Bouma Rites Held for Andrew Bouma in Alton

Andrew Bouma 75 of Alton died November 30 after a long illness in an Orange City hospital. Services were held December 3 at the Alton Reformed Church with burial in Nassau Township Cemetery. He was born March 24, 1898 in Orange City and married Artie Vander Wilt in 1925. He and his wife farmed until 1947 then he worked for Sioux County 1947 to 1961. Survivors include his wife, two sons Roy and Harold, four grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one sister, Miss Etta A. of Sheldon.
