The November session of the Plymouth County Soil Conservation District Commissioners met in the ASC room with attendance from commissioners and ASC committee members. They invited the county ASC committee to cooperate in setting aside ACP funds for permanent soil conservation practices for 1960 and received assurances from the committee.
Kingsley officials and Floyd Valley Watershed association discuss district plans and seek full 100 percent cost sharing for terraces in 1960. County ASC committee will decide later. A Sioux City office representative will be in Le Mars on December 3 and 17 to assist claimants.
John R. Goldman, manager of the Sioux City Social Security district office, urges applicants to bring essential papers to speed retirement benefit processing. Required items include a social security card, proof of age, and proof of recent earnings. A birth certificate is not required. Even older documents might suffice for birth date proof.
Mrs John Boever 68 wife of a Remsen town councilman died at her Remsen home after a long illness. Services set for 9:30 a.m. Friday at St Marys Catholic Church Remsen with Rt Rev Msgr Francis P Schultes officiating. Burial in parish cemetery under Fisch Funeral Home direction. Rosary at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Deeds record shows Herman R. Lang to Clara Lang transferring Lot 2 Bik 89 7th Add Le Mars for 1.00 and William C. Grady to Ernest Charlson transferring South 26 Lot 14 and North 6 Lot 13 Bik 3 Grady Add Le Mars for 1.00.
Mrs Boever born November 3 1901 at Hospers wed January 4 1921 in Hospers then moved to a farm near Remsen retiring to Remsen six years ago. She belonged to the Christian Mothers society at St Marys Catholic church. Survived by widower two daughters James and two sisters in Hospers and Minneapolis.
