Forty years ago in 1919 Le Mars area life included marriage licenses for Charles Lanny and Ema Schumacher of Remsen and Orval Billington with Lindia Hulsebus of Le Mars. George Lamb sold his cleaning business and would become Le Mars Gas superintendent. A basement fire at the Five and Ten Store caused smoke and water damage estimated at 1500 dollars.
