West Africa poultry aid exposed by GAO report
The General Accounting Office audited a $1.4 million West Africa poultry project for Mali Senegal and Mauritania finding no feasibility study and widespread waste. Chicks failed production some shipped from France cost more than local feed, two feedmills unused, a deep well unpumpable equipment unused and mismatched incubators and hatchers. Tuskegee aid contract produced no value and misused funds. AID plans a $17 million Mali road project while unused poultry gear sits idle.
