Remsen Man Builds Grass Waterway in Plymouth County
Kenneth Groeper of Remsen completed a 2 728 foot grass waterway this week. About 55 feet wide and 1.7 feet deep, it will be seeded to brome grass to remove excess water during heavy rains. Designed by Warren Betts at Le Mars, the practice reflects growing use of grass waterways in Plymouth County. The SCS reports about 110 acres designed last year, with terraces ponds erosion control structures diversions and other practices also laid out.

Dennis Criswell To Teach English At Heelan High
Dennis Criswell of Le Mars has accepted a teaching post in the English literature and speech department at Sioux City Heelan High School. A 1961 Le Mars Community graduate, he earned a B A and master’s from Eastern New Mexico University. He taught in the Spring Lake Earth system at Earth Texas for two years. He is married to Carol Compton of Clovis New Mexico. they have two daughters, Kelly and Kristi, and reside at 1424 N Irene, Sioux City.
