Quality of hospital services over size in small communities
The Remsen meeting reviewed a 1958 policy from the American Hospital Assn endorsing that hospital quality matters more than size. The statement, read by Dr. L A George, cautions against building hospitals for pride or economic gain and urges realistic planning, adequate staffing, and focus on services and staff to prevent waste and maintain public confidence.
