Mr and Mrs Walter Good Good of Dearborn Michigan welcomed Ray Edmonds on Tuesday for a social visit with Mrs Greatly enjoyed by all present highlighting local ties and family hospitality in the community.

Annual Kids Days and Community Fair at Remsen Aug 14-15

The 11th annual event runs Wednesday and Thursday Aug 14 15 in Remsen featuring carnival refreshment and lunch stands a flower and garden show and commercial and machinery exhibits A colt show at 130 pm Aug 14 and a baby beef show at 2 pm Aug 15 with an open beef auction at 8 pm Free ice cream cones noon 6 pm Aug 14 a kids parade 715 pm with prizes and Le Mars Drum and Bugle corps entertainment Plymouth Maids Sweet Adelines perform at 7 pm Thursday night A teenage street dance is planned both nights and Mr and Mrs Charles depart for a Canada vacation.

Plymouth County Tops State In Production Of Oats

Plymouth County led Iowa in oats production in 1962 with an average 47.8 bushels per acre on 79,601 acres totaling 3,801,000 bushels. Sioux County led corn with 15,860,000 bushels. Cedar County led in oats per acre at 91.8. Webster County led soybeans with 3,421,000 bushels. The Afternoon circle of St James Altar Society meets Monday at 2 pm at the parish hall. hostesses invite friends.
