Hospital consultants from Herman Smith of Chicago present a report on financing a new Le Mars hospital. They favor a non profit voluntary institution and recommend studying county city or combined Le Mars and Remsen funding options if legally feasible. The suggestions are photographed directly from the report book.
A study argues remodeling a Le Mars hospital is costly and insufficient and supports constructing a new 40 bed acute hospital at about 1 044 000 with 800 000 from community subscriptions and 244 000 borrowed from revenues. Additional 418 000 needed for 40 extended care beds. Total project about 1 462 000 plus land.

Elgin Emeralds 4-H club met July 11 at Barbara Hawkins's home with 11 members present one leader and three visitors. Plans included completing fair projects by Achievement Day on July 28 at Mrs Herman Schulz's home and Barbara Hawkins entering Dress revue. A member Rosalie Van Gelder was named Fair queen candidate. Next meeting set for Sept 12 at Michele Rieke's home. Lunch was provided by Barbara Hawkins.
