Farm bill fight undercuts push to end subsidies

Funeral services for 82 year old Florence Brown of 321 Second Ave SW Le Mars are set for Friday at 2 p.m. at Luken-Johnson funeral home with Rev Milo Morris officiating. Burial in Calvary cemetery. A Thursday prayer service at 7 30 p.m. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Thursday. Mrs Brown died Sunday July 29 1973 at Manor Care center after an extended illness.

Marcus Junior Flower Show Sponsored by Garden Club

The Marcus Federated Garden club sponsored a flower show for juniors in the municipal building on Tuesday July 17. Fifty entries were submitted by six junior gardeners with Shelly Hanson winning first place in arranging.
