Merrill notes report visits from Lake Benton Woden and Sioux City. Local performances include a Womanless Wedding and a Merrill baseball win 8 to 5 over Sioux City Stock Yards. The P T A met, Farm Bureau held a meeting, and church supper planned at Struble. Multiple residents traveled to LeMars Aberdeen and Lake Alexandria for visits and activities.
Local residents share visits and calls with family in LeMars Merrill and Sioux City. Oscar Schindel's illness is being treated by Dr. Cody of Sioux City while a play in Merrill drew a large crowd last Friday night. The Farm Bureau meeting was postponed due to weather, and a group from the area attended the 161 Ranch show in Sioux City.
Sioux City visitors Nick Schessler and groups traveled to Ames while Miss Mayne enrolled in Home Economics. Local residents and teachers, shoppers, and relatives traveled between Sioux City, Minneapolis, Rochester, LeMars, and area farms for visits, health consultations, and family events. A birthday party and a bridal shower occurred at local homes with many guests attending.
S E Washington reports Archie Tucker and family transacted business in LeMars Saturday afternoon. Jack Schultz and son visited the Ed Harms home Sunday. Elmer and Maynard Braband called on LeMars Saturday evening. Lester Brown, recently sick, is improving. Harry Thoms visited LeMars earlier in the week. A J Bowers and son Leonard and Esther Schultz visited nearby Sunday evening. Millie Harms, working in Le Mars last summer, spent Sunday at home near LeMars. Arnold Kilker and family did Merrill business earlier in the week. Charlie Brown and children attended business in Le Mars Saturday evening.
A light snowstorm hit South Lincoln Monday as Henry Roepke begins new farm buildings. Rain on Sunday canceled a local ball game. Residents visited Sioux City for the circus, while Loretta Robinson and Elmer Sanders spent time with family. Corn shelling and seed corn prep are noted, with many locals traveling to Sioux City for shopping and work.

OYENS Roman Fisch left for Omaha Sunday to begin his third year in Creighton University’s Liberal Arts department. The Oyens Cooperative Co shipped two cars of oats to grain markets last week. Charles Masuen was in Remsen on business Wednesday. Mrs L J Kass and Mrs John Meis attended a party for Angeline Homan’s 78th birthday in Remsen Thursday. Al Orban and two daughters from near LeMars visited the Doud family and Dr P R Meis and Sylvester Meis Saturday afternoon.

Guests include Dr. H D W Meis family in Sioux City, Mr and Mrs Frank Ludwig at a surprise party for Will Tentinger’s wedding anniversary, Elizabeth and Katherine Kass visiting from Tyndall, and Melvin Desperdang’s seventh birthday party. Numerous relatives visited Remsen, LeMars, and nearby farms, with weddings, church visits, and club meetings noted. Ongoing work includes a new barn by Frank Lange and banking changes with Gertrude Fisch joining Plymouth County Bank.

Langs visited Sioux City Saturday. Schrootens entertained Sioux City relatives Wednesday. Dobbert family hosted South Dakota kin. Bowers bought a new sedan. Pashas visited Clarence Schulz. Legal blanks and adding machine paper for sale at Globe-Post. Quilting time ended with a nice luncheon. Rev A A Causer of Fort Dodge led a Stanton Evangelical service. Wm Schultz, Paul Gaumnitz and Kenneth left for South Dakota. O D Hart and son Jack visited Roy Berner. Rev W C McKinley and Rev A A Causer went to Correctionville for revival. Causer stayed to help. They were guests of the Harkers in Ireton. Young Peoples missionary circle to meet Friday evening at J.
Mrs Frank Holzman entertained a number of ladies at a quilting party on Wednesday afternoon. The event brought together neighbors for social sewing and conversation.
Miss Blanche Bunch will read the lesson at a local gathering. Mr and Mrs D W Geary Vernon and Elmer Hoffman spent Thursday evening with Frank Robbins. Rev and Mrs W C McKinley and family and Rev Les McKinley of Le Mars were guests at Elmer Kehrberg’s. Mr and Mrs O D Hart and son called on I H Brandstetter Tuesday evening. Mr and Mrs Will Danne visited in LeMars Wednesday.
