Merrill Iowa budget hearing adopts 19600.00 levy
In Merrill Iowa on August 8 1955 the council held a budget hearing with a quorum present and after hearing six taxpayers adopted the final budget estimate of 19600.00 as published in the county newspaper. The clerk was directed to forward the adopted budget and tax levy to the County Auditor in duplicate. The final vote was Ayes Buké Petersen Edi Nays None Ak Todd Mayor.

The Legion club applied for a beer permit and the motion by Petersen with Brunstedt seconding passed on roll call with yeas Baker Brunstedt Petersen Keiser. Bills were presented and approved for payment from Operating and Utilities funds including salaries, electricity and repairs. Council adjourned after confirming the minutes and reports from IPS and local officials.
