The Democrats of LeMars township hold a convention at the mayor’s office in LeMars on Monday evening October 1 at 8 o’clock to select a township ticket. The wards are West Ward one delegate, Second Ward two delegates, Third Ward three delegates. Charles B. Epstein, George M. Smith, Jens Becker elected chairmen.

Nic Hasterd 19 and Nic Jonas 16, both from David City Nebraska, vanished after swimming Sunday in the Ployd Etat river above Carnes. They left their homes to visit friends and did not return by nightfall. Searchers found Jonas’s body on Monday and Hasterd’s body later that day.

Mrs Gustav Schultz died at her home near Melbourne on Friday evening after several days of inflammation of the bowels. The Neumeister family of LeMars were at her bedside, and funeral services were held Sunday at United Evangelical church in Stanton township. She was born August 22, 1868 in Plymouth township, married Gustav Schultz on June 3, 1894, and left five children—Laverne, Leora, George, LeRoy, and a daughter who died in Colorado. She leaves her parents, a sorrowing husband, four young children, two brothers, three sisters, and many friends who mourn her loss.
District and county leaders meet in Le Mars with W. Miller and Claude R. Porter to organize the party for a strong campaign. Attendees include General James B. Weaver and W. G. Sears Dickson. The goal is closer worker contact, boosting turnout, and shaping district strategy across Woodbury Monona Lyon O’Brien Cherokee Osceola counties.
