Yankton reports Bulldogs compete in sports statistics with Coppocks and Bob Burns noted for spore marker scores and field performance in a local season update.
Carey coached Le Mars Bulldogs open season with a 20 to 0 win over Yankton. Key plays include a 31 yard interception return for a touchdown by Ashton Coppock and a 45 yard punt return by Burns setting up Coppock’s TD. Le Mars dominate with 11 first downs to 3 and six Knoop punts for 36 yard average.
The Le Mars Bulldogs open with a 20 nothing win at Yankton on Sept 21. The schedule lists games against Sioux Falls Sheldon Storm Lake Ida Grove Albert City Rock Rapids Hawarden Cherokee with home and away designations through Nov 29.
Le Mars Bullpups, coached by Herb Adams, defeated Kingsley 25 to 7 in the season opener at Kingsley. Kilker recovered a kickoff for a quick touchdown, with Bowers and De Force adding two more scoring runs, aided by solid blocking from Walden, Holton, Bollinger and Boyle. De Force iced the game with a 25 yard interception return for a final score and conversion.
Iowa sportsmen pursued cotton tail and jack rabbits in an annual rabbit season running through January 15. The drought season favored spotting in late autumn and early winter with light snows aiding tracking. The state Fish and Game Commission notes a strong rabbit population, urges hunters to secure landowner permission, and sets a daily bag limit of 15 with a possession limit of 30.

The Lincoln township team defeated Mattas parage 16 to 0 to win the Merril kittenball tour nament last Sunday night. Lincolns players Funk and Kounkel led the victory while Mattas saw Kleinheslink listed for batteries. Melbourne took the consolation round by beating Hinton 7 to 5 with Brehm and Hansen credited. Final prize order placed Lincoln first, Mattas garage second, Craspe third, Melbourne fourth, Hinton fifth.
W U C records and future games list with opponents and venues including matchups against Sioux City Morningside Madison Decorah Vermilion Le Mars Vermilion Yankton Storm Lake Buena Vista and Eastern Normal, with dates in late October to November and notes of locations in Iowa and South Dakota.
The Kingsley golf club sponsors an amateur tourney on Sunday September 30. Play includes a 27 hole medal morning qualifier and an 18 hole afternoon match. Four flights will be formed from the morning scores with 3 or 4 cash prizes per flight. Entrance is $1.00. Dinner available at noon. Delegations from Akron Hawarden Newell Mapleton Le Mars and Mville expected alongside 20 to 30 local players.
The Town Fish and Game Commission planted six thousand bullheads in the Floyd River and Mort Lake last Monday. About 2000 fish were placed near Singer dam with 4000 in the lake. Fish, 6 to 10 inches long, were from Center Lake in Dickinson County. Izaak Walton League members helped stock. A fishing license is required to fish these waters.
Coach J M Saunderson of Morningside College leads the Maroon and White warriors to a victory over W U C. The triumph showcases Saundersons team strength as they cap a strong showing this season.
Gerald Hemphill reports Shouxs fall to Morningside 46 to 0 in Stock Yards Park. Despite a strength show, the Eagles’ offense struggled as Litterel and Maroons powered early, while Maxwell Holton and Lang sparked late passing and punts. The Maroons sealed the win with two final touchdowns.
Morningside and Western Union met with Morningside dominating 46 to 0. Dean Littrell and Day led scoring with multiple touchdowns and key line performances from Lang Hedaway Henke and Bollin. Substitutions and official details pepper the report amid local social notes and campus updates.
The Hamm Brews of Le Mars defeated Dhbert Plumbers of Sioux City in a special Le Mars match 2 745 to 2 717. Jack Snyder rolled 255 for Sioux City in high single. Maybelle Beauty Shop of Le Mars beat Sioux City Thallas Florists 2 344 to 2 196. Teams won’t return to Sioux City on October 7.
Elgin reports a Canton South Dakota couple H D Albert and family visited relatives Sunday. The Lew Weber family from Sioux City visited Ed Detloff’s home Sunday. A son was born to Mr and Mrs. Albert.
Preston families and friends visited over the weekend at several homes including the Gronemeyer and Morrisson residences. Guests shared birthdays, discussed markets, and farming tasks. residents from Le Mars Emmet and Sioux City appeared. Local items seek more society notes for The Globe Post.
