M Varella Greek candy store owner on Sixth street seeks the law to recover about 60 dollars cash and 100 dollars worth of goods taken by his wife and Leo Hathaway who fled to Omaha last Saturday night. The watch, valued at 22 dollars, was recovered from Evans jewelers where Hathaway had left it for repairs. If evidence suffices, County Attorney Strubis will issue a warrant for Hathaway’s arrest on a criminal charge.
The partnership of O. W. Haas and J. C. Huebsch trading as Haas and Huebsch is dissolved by mutual consent. Debts should be paid to the firm, and any claims presented for payment. Dated September 16, 1905. C. Eb Haas, J. C. Hursscon.
Special, George Carr former postmaster at Ireton was indicted by the grand jury in Orange City Iowa Sept 19 on forgery. Carr had been convicted at the last term but the verdict was set aside for a defective indictment, and the case was sent back to the grand jury for a new indictment.

New York reports another 3 cent lift on higher oil grades and 2 cent on lower grades by Standard Oil following retail price hikes. Officials cite international demand and reduced Pennsylvania output, with Kansas as the new price driver as winter demand nears. Expected dividends for Rockefeller’s Standard holdings reach about 18 million dollars at 45 percent.
Frank Griffith about thirty, from LeMars, suffered delirium tremens at work north of the city on Monday and was taken to City hospital. On Thursday he broke a window with a chain while believing pursuers were after him, escaped outside, ran around the block, then returned to the hospital. G W Phillips cared for him. chains were removed and he slept after close watching.
Mrs Wm Hall died at her Missouri home on Monday September 18 age about 30. Her body was brought to Union township cemetery via LeMars for burial. Ada Hawkins former daughter of John Hawkins once Ply mouth county supervisor and Henry township resident. She leaves husband four children her father one brother and many relatives. Her mother died last winter in Missouri and was brought here for burial. Funeral at Union township Presbyterian church Thursday conducted by Rev W A Richards Mt Hope M B Church. Deceased was a piece of Mrs Wm Mc Cartney and Greg Croston.
G A O Clarke district deputy returned on Tuesday from Kingsley where he assisted in instituting Friendship Encampment No 211 IOOF FB. The officers installed include Geo Arnold O P H L Grubb H P J A Ingalls S W BE H McEwin J W K A Rathbun scribe J W Randall treasurer.

A large audience at the opera house heard Bicknell Young of the Christian Science lecture board of Boston explain the creed. He said Christian Science defines the science of God and healing, deny evil, and uphold Christ’s healing command as universal. Mrs. Eddy founded the movement, with Science and Health as a key text, and believes healing comes through divine law, not material medicine.
The sixth annual Plymouth county Sunday school association convention met in Hinton on September 16 and 17. It drew many state workers and enthusiastic Sunday school workers as residents warmly hosted visitors. Officers elected for the coming year include President H W Richards Merrill and Vice President J H Thoren LeMars, with multiple secretaries and an executive committee named to replace I S Struble and fierce Beciitle of LeMars. The next convention was set for LeMars.

A September 20 report from Rappal Bros. notes liberal cattle receipts in Chicago the first half of the week with strength in choice corn fed cattle but weaker common grades. It warns no higher beef steer prices soon and predicts a lower near term for hogs while sheep and lambs appear plentiful but soften before six weeks of gradual recovery.
Sheriff Arendt returned home with Frank Messex after a requisition on the Governor of South Dakota. Messex’s relatives fought the warrant, but the county attorney aided Arendt, securing habeas corpus quashed and Messex turned over to the Iowa sheriff. Messex may face jail for alleged jail breaking and disruption to authorities.
A Plymouth County Milling Co notice offers a carload of Turkey Nebraska raised winter wheat seed in exchange for good spring wheat. The seed has yielded 20 to 35 bushels per acre in Iowa and Nebraska over two years and should be sown in September. September 9 16 23 30 publication.

Washington reports a weekly crop conditions summary noting excessive rainfall and winds in the lower Missouri valley damaging corn especially in Missouri and Kansas. Some areas show two thirds to three quarters of corn safe from frost while late corn in the upper Ohio and Missouri valleys matures slowly. apples expected small. potatoes rot and brightness widespread though some fair yields. plowing for fall seeding delayed by rain in Missouri and Osage valleys and drought in the south.
Kansas City reports sun returns and receding streams after two weeks of heavy rain. Missouri Pacific fixes tracks and plans to run trains on its regular route today. Rail traffic shifts involve Burlington Wabash and St Louis San Francisco routes to Fort Scott. Flooded areas near Ottawa and Madison see continued high water while towns like Rosedale begin resettling. Separately, Chicago and Alton railway answers contempt charges over rebates, admitting arbitrary switching rates but denying knowledge of Illinois Northern control by the International Harvester company.
Washington news item reports AFL executive council adopting a resolution to resist any change to the existing exclusion law barring Chinese laborers and coolies from the United States and its possessions.
