Special Correspondent reports a flurry of visits and travel. John Boever and Claire Hayes are apart on a Minnesota journey while Mrs Meyer and family visited Mrs Meyer's parents in Marcus. Several residents plan trips to Sioux City Fargo Excelsior Springs LeMars and Chicago with visits to relatives and business trips noted.
A surprise party was arranged at the Meis home Wednesday to celebrate the birthday of Mary and Martha Meis with dancing and luncheon. Guests included Roman Fisch of Omaha visiting his parents Mr and Mrs Peter Fisch. many local acquaintances attended card parties and visits at several homes in Remsen Oyens and surrounding towns.
Mr and Mrs Fred Buckley visited Sioux City on Monday. John McDougall went to Cherokee to view plowing match and fair. Miss Mary Keough heads to Ames for home economics course. Mrs Chester McDougall hosted bridge with lunch. First communion service next Sunday and September 24 confirmation at St Josephs with Father Greteman in charge. Several visits, entertainments, and travelers noted. A birth announced for John Welling on September 9. Mrs A P Noble leaves for visits with daughters in South Dakota.
The Mission Festival here Sunday drew a large crowd with visiting ministers Reverend Heuer of Lincoln Nebraska and Reverend Plueger of Kansas. Ann Zimmermann of Chicago Illinois visited at sister Mrs J D Hauschild recently. Mr and Mrs Dick Frerichs and son George and Mr and Mrs Folkert Frerichs were Sioux City callers Wednesday. Mrs Henry Siebels, a former surgical patient at Lutheran hospital Sioux City, returned home Saturday. A big crowd attended the Brunsville dance Friday night. Mr and Mrs Charles Mammen and family shopped in Sioux City Wednesday.

Formerly Miss Irehe Rogers of Isberville Town plans home on a four storm near LeMars. Mrs P J Moran visited Sioux City for a few days. Geo Lang of Yankton SD and his wife visited his parents Frank and Mrs Lang. St Joseph church ladies hosted a cards party at Dennis Short home. five hundred played at multiple tables. Margaret McDonald won high for ladies. John Garding won for men. Bertram and family visited Sioux City and attended a ball game with Plymouth Farm Bureau and a Rock Valley team. Plymouth County won in the thirteenth inning. Fred Utech can walk on crutches after a broken foot from a corn crib fall.
