Ten men of Equitable Life Insurance painted the Ricke farm buildings. Visitors from Doland and Baker toured the Kitterman and Steffen households. Grandma Bolton celebrated her 90th birthday while many locals attended parties and gatherings at the Legion hall. Several residents moved buildings, planned trips, and returned from Des Moines and Spirit Lake for work and visits.
Special correspondence notes Dr Frances Johnson of Milwaukee visiting with her mother Mrs D C Johnson of Spirit Lake. Stanton Sunday school class members and families held their annual picnic at Le Mars municipal park with a sumptuous chicken dinner and recreation. Mr and Mrs W F Schultz and their two children left for a vacation with Mrs Schultz's parents at Griswold Iowa. Mr Schultz, in poor health, hopes rest will help.

Grant Dick Asselin of near Lincoln Neb visited relatives this week and rented the John M Renken farm now owned by Gustaff Otto. Otto and family will move to Minnesota in early March. Ben Dirks of Washington DC tours the area, with Mr Eilert Dirks returning from Washington. Carl Ahrendt and Fred Otto hosts welcomed guests, with Sunday visitors to Henry Pageler’s home.
Mr and Mrs Lewis Albright and son Wesley of Merrill with Henry Bageler and family assist Mrs Henry Renken with house work. Marlis Renken returned home after a week at Sacred Heart hospital. Sylvia Siebels and family suffered a broken right arm in a Sunday accident. Grant township finally included for notable rainfall. Two showers last week, pastures green, rye and other grains look well. Bijrrerichs and family were evening visitors in Brunnsville. George Osterbuhrd assisted John Jausehild with work.
Labor Day games yield notable scores with Le Mars losing 6 to 7 at Rivers Sioux Weatfield and Akron defeated 18 to 2 as four pitchers were used to entertain the crowd. Upcoming games list Vermillion Avord and Akron. Conway, employed at T S Martin Co store, visited his parents. Edith Berguim and Neva McCorkell enroll in Akron and De Smet high schools. The Warren family hosts guests from Garretson and 8 D. A fire destroyed the tenant house on the M W Conway farm, started late Wednesday. Julia Welch returns home from M F Flynn job east of town.
