Maurice Mrs Abe Levering attended the 25th anniversary dinner of Mr and Mrs Art Doctor in LeMars. A tractor pulling contest was held Saturday with over 100 people at free pancakes noon. Woman's club served lunches for the benefit. All were served on grounds west of Maurice. Old Home Bread offered a train for youths. Maurice High School class of 53 held a church parish reunion August 31 with eleven graduates and families present. Several locals listed as attendees or absent. Also notes on furniture trade, visits, and upcoming seasons opening September 15.

Their older brother Francis is also in the Navy. Mr and Mrs Ray Schemmel attended the funeral of an uncle Rudolph Hackman at Canton S D Thursday. Mr and Mrs Harold Reichle and family of Le Mars were Sunday guests in Bert Schnurr’s parlor. Henry Ricke departed Saturday by plane from Sioux City for Dallas Texas to attend the 6th family reunion of the Ricke brothers.
