Fredonia township farm bureau women meet at Bogh home
Special Correspondent reports the Fredonia township farm bureau women held their meeting at Mrs. Marious Bogh's home last Thursday. The afternoon was spent finishing tenches on a quilt. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Larson visited Nick Hiester Sunday evening. The Akset family and Rev. and Mrs. daughter Evla visited Larson Saturday. Lutheran church mission meetings were held Saturday.

Safety car to tour LeMars for rail safety films
Residents of LeMars and nearby areas may view Illinois Central System safety car exhibits Monday September 12 near the station. The traveling motion picture car will show two films Gambling With Death and Safety Pays addressing accidents to children trespassers passengers and drivers. Free screenings are open to the public and railroad employees. The safety car, likely the first of its kind on a steam railroad, was conceived by General Manager G E Patterson. J D White, Illinois Central Superintendent of Safety, leads the exhibit and chairs the Steam Railroad Section of the National Safety Council.
