Vernon Elvin Lang born April 5 1918 in La Porte City Iowa died August 27 1938 in Pittsburg Kansas at age 20 years 4 months 22 days He lived in several towns as son of the parsonage and was a Western Union college junior working to fund his expenses He rode his bicycle toward Pittsburg when struck by a truck He united with the Evangelical church was active in Christian Endeavor Y M C A and drama He is survived by his parents six siblings and several relatives Funeral services were in Nora Springs with burial at Cedar Falls
