Thylis Kemp of Des Moines visited Le Mars this weekend while Teresa Harmis, employed by an insurance firm in Des Moines, spent the weekend at her parents' home in Brunsville. A used United Motors car radio was for sale at a bargain through Kelleher Motor Co.
Lowell Day plans to enroll in the Sioux City college of barbering next week. Girl Scout Troop No. 3 will meet Wednesday in the new lunch room of Central building. Mr. and Mrs. John Jennings of Los Angeles are visiting the Roy Jennings home for a couple of weeks. Frank Warenhorst and Bill Kaiser returned from a three week trip to Niagara Falls and Washington D. C. and traveled south on the way home. Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Winders will attend the funeral of Mrs. Winders brother in Montour, Iowa. Mr. and Mrs. Baward Chmislew ski and relatives visited the Marie Jahn home on Libor day. Jim Koenig arrived from Kansas City to finish an engineering course at Ames after summer work with Proctor & Gamble Co. He will resume work in January. A joint meeting of the Woman's Missionary Society of the Albright Brotherhood will be held at Hildreth church parlors Thursday at 8. Rev. Golden Thomas will discuss the community religious status. Mrs. A. R. Hershberger will speak on constructive forces. C. W. Pitts will address disruptive forces at work in the community. Special music and a social hour organized by the church men’s brotherhood will follow. A. L. Bowers is president. Members and friends are invited.
Mr and Mrs Louie Brandt of Kiler Wisconsin spend a week visiting in the F A Kunkel home Mrs Katherine Murray formerly of Le Mars now of Los Angeles California spent the weekend with the H R Pew home
A Pleasant social gathering was hosted at Mr. and Mrs. George Kilker with guests including Mr. and Mrs. John Roerig, Mrs. Elizabeth Salentini, the Salentinis, Meis and Wolf families, Mrs. Childress of Williamsburg, and local residents Walter Rains and Lualis Wiebold. Also noted is a large two pound potato brought by Walter Rains from Guthrie Center.
Orioles toppled Presto Cafe 6-2 as errors and strong hitting fueled the win. Key players include Weenink Kalpean Braband Peters and Tompkins with two base hits, EB Wiltgerr and Larson homering, Langstaff and Schiefen driving runs and high strikeout totals for Cameron Langstaff and Schiefen. Umpires Nessings and Braband worked a 2:01 game with 8 to 6 on base.
