Unidentified man ends life near Hinton by oncoming train
A tall Scandinavian man about 6 foot 9 and 175 pounds evidently committed suicide on a Plymouth County railroad line near Hinton. Seen moments before by a foreman he walked toward an approaching St Paul passenger train and was struck, the body thrown yards from the track. Identification failed. coroner to rule on inquest with county officials deciding on funeral arrangements.

Police Court Cleared for Most Claimants by Mayor Linden
On Thursday morning Mayor Linden faced a crowded Police Court docket with many claimants released without punishment. Jack Philips, recently released from Cherokee, was arrested again for drinking and confined by police. He asked not to be sent back, and Linden offered another chance to reform. Two men pulled from a Main Street barn on Thursday were sent away from Lawn. M. Smith, previously an offender, was fined by Linden after a Wednesday night incident.

House Struck by Lightning in LeMars
A sharp electric storm struck the Brick home in LeMars on a Wednesday morning. The chimney was demolished and shingles torn from the roof while plaster cracked in two or three rooms. Dr Brick, in the act of fixing a water spout, was thrown about ten feet. Mrs Brick twisted six feet across the kitchen. The couple escaped injury and the children upstairs did not feel the concussion.
